On July 28, a message from the unknown person was received at Chornobyl NPP e-mail reporting that an explosive item has been put on the area of ChNPP industrial site.
Immediately after the information received, an emergency response unit was formed consisting of representatives of the Operator and divisions of the Security Service of Ukraine, National Police, National Guard, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine managing the verification of the message received.
An emergency preparedness mode was announced at the enterprise, and measures have been undertaken to protect the personnel. The measures to prevent a terrorist threat are being carried out according to the plan.


A final day of the Member Support Mission (MSM) of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) was held on July 16 at the ChNPP Training Center.
From 12th to 16th July 2021, Chornobyl NPP is hosting a member support mission delivered by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) — “Experience in providing the individual dosimetry monitoring of the personnel internal radiation exposure”.
On 4th June 2021, SSE Chornobyl NPP became one of the signers of the Memorandum on establishment of the Educational and Research Center “Slavutych” as part of the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, which has been included to Ukraine’s Top 30 universities.
On 8 July 2021, within the framework of the obtained license giving a right to operate the new spent nuclear fuel storage facility (i.e. ISF-2), the first spent fuel of ChNPP was placed for a period of 100-year storage.
